FAQ

Do you take reservations?
The Southerner only takes reservations on Easter Sunday, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and New Year’s Eve. We do offer “call ahead” service, meaning you may call the restaurant up to a half hour before your arrival to be put onto the list for a table which can help shorten the wait.
Is there additional parking if the lot is full?
Yes. Southerner patrons may park at the Marina if spaces are available. Otherwise, parking is often available even during peak season on Lucy and Spear streets just a short walk from the restaurant.
Can you accommodate larger groups?
We can often accommodate larger groups if arrangements are made in advance. Room fees may apply. Please contact the restaurant for more information.
Can we bring in outside food and beverage.
No. State law forbids both.
Can we bring our dog?
We do have a wait area outside the restaurant where dogs are welcome is space allows. Services must be ordered from the bar, however, and a server will not visit your party regularly.
Do you deliver?
Not at this time.
Do you cater?
Yes. Please contact the restaurant for more information.
What food allergies are of particular concern?
We fry our chicken in peanut oil. Please let your server know of any food allergies and we will do our best to accommodate your diet’s requirements.
Is The Southerner a good choice for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten free diners?
We do offer a small variety of vegetarian dishes and gluten free diners will find several appropriate options. Vegan options are few and we respectfully suggest that perhaps the Southerner is not the best choice to fulfill vegan dining expectations.
Is this a good place to bring kids?
Yes! Our menu is very family friendly.
